L.E.A.D. Academy Trust Values

Our Windmill values have grown out of the L.E.A.D. Academy Trust vision.

LEAD, EMPOWER, ACHIEVE and DRIVE are our overarching values. If we work hard on our Windmill values, we will be able to lead, empower others, achieve well and drive forward in our lives.

Values at Windmill

‘We Thrive through Care, Connection, Compassion and Courage’

At Windmill, everything we do is guided by our tagline: Educating Hearts and Minds. We believe that children thrive when strong relationships, wellbeing, and high expectations for learning work hand in hand.

We have five key principles: Care, Connection, Compassion, Courage and Thrive. These values help children feel safe, respected, and ready to learn, while also encouraging them to aim high and achieve their best.

Through these values, we teach children how to:

  • care for themselves, others, and their learning

  • build positive relationships and a strong sense of belonging

  • show kindness, empathy, and understanding

  • be courageous in their learning and never give up

By living out these values every day, our pupils develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and character they need to thrive both in school and in life.

Our Vision and Mission

Our Vision:

At Windmill, we educate hearts and minds so that every child feels a strong sense of belonging, is understood and valued, and is empowered and equipped with the knowledge and skills to be courageous and successful in their learning and life. Through strong relationships, high expectations, and a belief in every child’s potential, we support all members of our community to flourish and thrive.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where relationships come first and learning is purposeful, challenging, and ambitious. We deliver a rich and well-sequenced curriculum, underpinned by strong teaching and informed by an understanding of children’s emotional and developmental needs. Working in partnership with families and the wider community, we support every child to develop knowledge, skills, resilience, and a love of learning.
