Eco Council

At Windmill, we understand the importance of ensuring that children have a good understanding of our planet and the issues that are having an impact on the natural world. We aim to ensure that pupils appreciate the natural world and act responsibly towards the environment.

Our Environment Minister, Maria, will lead the Eco Council. She is also overseeing a special project this year: to source equipment for, and then lead, a gardening club for KS2 children.

School Eco Council representatives, that have been elected in the first few weeks of the school year, will work together to achieve our Eco action plan and raise awareness of green issues within the school.

Our Eco Council representatives for 2023/24 are:

Bassey (Year 2)

Mayowa (Year 2)

Fatiha (Year 3)

Malaika (Year 3)

Jeddah (Year 4)

Huddah (Year 4)

Rithanya Year 5)

Hizra Year 5)

Mayha (Year 6)

Faton (Year 6)

Our Eco Councillors had to apply for their role and show their passion for looking after the environment.

The first task of the new academic year, is to ensure that everyone is following our Eco Code. The Eco Council has written this to help us be as environmentally friendly as possible.

This year, we have started our work with a campaign to collect plastic bottle tops to be recycled into furniture that can be used in school!
